Mob Albion was formed in 2020 by a group of players wishing to come back together to play in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The club entered the Mid-Solent Football League for the 2020/21 season. The club's name comes from a 5 a side team name of those that played together previously although some would suggest it stands for “Men of Bone” as all the players played under the founder and manager Alex Bone.
The club competed in the Mid-Solent League from 2020 to 2024 when it won the league title at the fourth attempt.
In these four seasons the club also won the Father Purcell Cup (League Cup) twice in 2021/22 & 2022/23. The club also made the final of the Len Day cup in season one and also made the semi finals of the Hampshire Vase in 21/22 & 22/23 losing to the eventual winners on both occasions.
The club also lost to the winners of the 2023/24 Vase. Mob Albion finished in the top 3 during all 4 season in the Mid-Solent Football League before promotion to the Hampshire Premier League for the 2024/25 season. This marked the entry onto the football pyramid and the first steps in county football. The 24/25 season also saw the
introduction of three junior sides at Under 8, 10 & 11 competing in the Mid Solent Football League and the Portsmouth Youth League. The 2024/25 season also saw the introduction of a new club badge which incorporates the family mentality.
The club prides itself on being a safe haven for all and a place where people can be themselves and share their
experiences, good or bad - this ethos is where the phrase “My Mob. Your Mob. Our Mob” was born.
The club currently plays its home games at the new Hampshire FA football complex - King George V. This allows the club to compete within the Hampshire Premier League. The plan is to create a complete football pathway for boys for girls from 5 to adults in the medium term. With the club ambitious to compete at the highest level possible whilst promoting a football for all ethos.
My Mob. Your Mob. Our Mob.
